Using Loopal
Loopal is a free, community-driven directory of local recommendations and events for South Africa. By using the site — browsing, submitting a recommendation or event, commenting, voting, or RSVPing — you agree to these terms.
What Loopal is (and isn't)
Loopal is a platform for neighbours to share recommendations with each other. We don't independently verify the businesses, service providers, or events listed on the site, and we don't vet the people who submit listings. A listing appearing on Loopal is not an endorsement, guarantee, or certification of quality, safety, or legitimacy by Loopal — it reflects one submitter's experience or opinion.
Use your own judgment before contacting or hiring anyone found through Loopal, the same way you would with any recommendation from a neighbour or friend.
Submitting content
When you submit a recommendation, event, comment, or report, you agree that:
- The information you submit is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- You won't submit false, misleading, defamatory, or illegal content.
- You won't submit someone else's personal information maliciously or to harass them.
- You won't use the submission forms for spam, advertising unrelated to a genuine local recommendation, or to promote your own business under false pretences.
If you're recommending a business or person, you're responsible for making sure what you submit is something you'd genuinely stand behind. If you're listed on Loopal by someone else and the information is wrong or you'd like it removed, see our Privacy Policy for how to request a correction or removal.
Content moderation
We may review, edit, reject, or remove any listing, comment, or other content at our discretion — including in response to a report, a removal request, or if we believe it violates these terms. We don't promise to review every piece of content before or after it's published.
No warranty
Loopal is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't guarantee the site will be available, error-free, or uninterrupted, or that listings are accurate, current, or complete.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Loopal and its operators aren't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, your reliance on any listing, or any interaction, transaction, or dispute between you and a business, service provider, or other user found through Loopal.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes. Continuing to use Loopal after a change means you accept the updated terms. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
